Sept. 18th Business Meeting

Bring trees for sharing, horticultural advice and – if you want – critique.

Capital City Bonsai Association Show

Every October the 4 Sacramento area clubs put on the Capital City Bonsai Show at Shepard Garden Center.  Times are Sat. 10-5 and Sun. 10-4. This year at 5PM on Saturday, members and their guests are invited to stay for a little get-together: there will be appetizers, drinks and a raffle, and there is no charge.   The show is not only a great way to meet other bonsai nuts and share our hobby (obsession?) with the community, but it raises money to support the Golden State Bonsai Federation’s Collection North at Lake Merritt, Oakland.

What can BSK members do for the show? (1) Attend and bring friends.  (2) BSK will need about 3 members to monitor the entry and tables on Sat. from 1PM-5PM.  (3) Come on Friday to help set up from 3PM-5PM.  (4) Show a tree.  Each club will show 5 large trees and 10 small trees or suiseki.  We will discuss this more at the September and October business meetings.  (5) Donate trees, pots, etc.  Bring any donations on Friday 3PM-5PM or Sat. morning.  (6) If you would like to partake in the potluck lunch on Sat. and/or Sun., bring a food item (enough for 6 people) on Sat. and/or Sun. mornings.  (6) If you are interested in selling trees contact Lucy Sakaishi-Judd at juddbonsai@att.net.  A percentage of each sale goes to the CC Bonsai Association.
